Kennels is owned by Nanci & Erin Nellis. Cross Timbers Kennels
has consistently bred quality winning and performing German Shepherd Dogs
since 1976. My daughter, Erin, has owner/breeder handled some of
our home-bred dogs to their Championships. I started with my first
two GSDs earning obedience titles and taught 4-H dog obedience and conformation
classes for seven years. I began breeding and exhibiting in conformation
in 1976 and am now an AKC licensed judge of GSDs.
I have been a GSDCA member
since 1980, and accepted the position of National Show Chairman beginning
with the 2004 National. I am also a member of the Board of
Directors and the Budget and Finance Committee.
I have been a member of
the Fort Worth GSDC since 1974 and have served as past president and show
chairman. I have also served as newsletter editor (received "Honorable
Mention" at National), program chair, Vice-president, and am currently
secretary.
I have been a Fort Worth
Kennel Club member since 1988, serving as Secretary 6 years, President
4 years, and Show chairman 4 years.
Gail Sprock handled and
was Agent for our dogs for many years until she 'retired' from the ring
to become editor of The GSD Review. She was in large part
responsible for our early successes. In addition to Erin, Scott Yergin
and Greg Eschette handle for us now.
Erin and I are the breeders
of the 1990-91 Mexican Grand Victrix, 1992 US Select Champion, 1993 US
National Futurity Victrix, 1994 US Maturity Victrix, 1995 US National Grand
Victrix, a Best in Maturity winner, SW Futurity Victor, and numerous other
Champions. We are also the breeders-owners of the 2002 SW Futurity
Best Opposite Reserve Winner and her brother, Best in Futurity Reserve,
who then went BOW and SEL EX CH at the 2002 National.
Cross
Timbers Kennels is located in Alvord, Texas - one hour NORTHWEST of the
Dalla/Fort Worth International airport. Our facility houses
16 large concrete covered runs attached to a 75'x40' building with access
to three large grassy exercise/play areas. There are two large whelping
rooms inside. The kennel has a complete kitchen and bathing and grooming
areas as well.
Cross Timbers Kennels currently stands
three dogs at stud including Sel. Ch. CrossTimbers Cargogh Clihu. We offer the best in
care and safety for your beautiful bitches while here for breeding.
We will also occasionally whelp litters for visiting bitches.
We offer champion-sired
show prospects, young adults and brood bitches occasionally for sale.
The first requirement of our breedings is that the pups will be confident,
courageous, have drive and spirit, and be especially intelligent.
Not only are they bred to win in the show ring, but they can be highly
competitive in Agility, Herding, and Obedience. Periodically, top
